Frequently asked questions

Does a round trip reproduce the original?
Not guaranteed. XML attributes, namespaces, and comments do not map cleanly against YAML’s type inference. Always compare for data that matters.
What about repeated element names?
They group into a YAML list. A single occurrence may become a scalar instead of a list, so the shape can change on the way back.

What this tool does not cover

Input is processed in your browser. Namespaces, comments, and CDATA are not fully preserved.
