Choosing resolution for PDF-to-PNG

PDF text and lines can remain sharp when enlarged; a PNG has a fixed pixel grid. Doubling the render scale doubles both dimensions and quadruples the pixel count. Large multipage documents can therefore consume substantial memory.

For screen sharing, try a lower scale first. Increase it if small text is unclear. Rendering a low-resolution scan at a higher scale does not recover detail missing from the original image.

Multiple pages are exported as individual PNG files inside a ZIP. Check file names and page order after extraction. A PNG does not retain the PDF’s searchable text layer or interactive links.
